Traffic light sequencing out
Reported in the Traffic Lights (permanent only) category anonymously at 06:34, Fri 6 December 2019
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
The sequencing at the traffic lights seems to be out. Whilst the right turn light is green for the orchard centre (from station to Aldi) is illuminated, drivers are prevented from travelling straight ahead, despite there being no conflicting traffic flow. This contributes to the traffic as the queue then builds up at the bottleneck before the separate right turn lane begins.
Thank you for recently contacting Oxfordshire County Council regarding the Hitchcock Way / Orchard Centre traffic signal junction. An Engineer has checked the operation of the signals and found them to be working as intended without any current faults. Green for Eastbound vehicles can run with the right turn into the Orchard Centre, only when the pedestrian phase across Hitchcock Way isn’t running. We will continue to monitor the operation of the signals.
State changed to: Fixed
