2 inch deep x 4 inch long pothole on Main St near Fenny Compton road junction
Reported in the Pothole category anonymously at 12:12, Thu 5 December 2019
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 3 minutes later
The seating for a drainage cover has dropped, and in the recent cold weather a pothole 2 inches deep and 4 inches long has developed in one corner. Last night, an elderly villager returning home from an event in the village tripped over the lip of this pothole and fell, hitting her head. She was narrowly avoided by a passing car. Thankfully two neighbours swiftly helped this lady to her feet and walked her to her home and the injury isn't serious. But please can you fix the drainage cover seating before there is a more serious incident? Thank you. The drainage cover is outside Threeways End on Main St just before the junction with Fenny Compton Road, on the West side.

Thank you for your report. I have visited this location and found the pothole around the gully to be below our intervention criteria for carriageway repairs. However, I have raised a pothole defect for this to be repaired as it may deteriorate over the oncoming winter months. This will be completed within 28 days. Please encourage, especially the elderly to use the footways in situations such as these, Thankyou.
