Large pothole that is invisible in the dark on left hand side of road as you approach the A329. Close to edge of road and avoidable only if no traffic coming from opposite direction.

I use this road regularly and have only recently come across this pothole in the dark on the evening of Tuesday 3rd December at 17:25. I appreciate that this road is not designed for a high volume of traffic and when passing cars approach, you can be forced into the verge. However, this pothole was not in the verge but adjacent to it. Both nearside wheels slammed into it. What I discovered when it was safe to stop was that the front nearside tyre had deflated but was still, at that time, drivable. It was only after inspecting the tyre later that evening at home did I realise that the tyre had been leaking air. On taking the wheel into a tyre specialist, it was pointed out to me that there was a very large impact on the inside of the wheel rim that was the cause of the air loss. Frustratingly, the tyre itself was literally replaced that same morning due to hitting a pothole the night before in Sonning Common! (this is subject to a separate claim). I was unable to take any photos of the offending pothole on Halfpenny Lane due to the unsafe nature of that road, which at that time of the day is both very dark and busy with traffic.
