Moonraker Lane constantly blocked by Vehicles Parking on ‘Keep Clear’
Reported in the Road Traffic Signs and Road Markings category anonymously at 16:47, Wednesday 4 December 2019
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 3 minutes later
There is an ongoing problem with Moonraker Lane in Bampton, adjacent to the new crossing area.
The ‘Keep Clear’ sign acrosss the entrance to Moonraker Lane is ignored on a continual basis throughout the day due to the convenience of accessing the Co-op.
Parking across this area makes it difficult and sometimes totally impossible to get in and out safely.
This is inconvenient and dangerous, as the view of oncoming traffic is severely restricted by incorrectly parked vehicles.
Moonraker Lane is home to 9 residential properties and 3 businesses, it is only a matter of time before a significant accident happens as a direct result of parked vehicles on the Keep Clear area.
The situation is made worse as the Keep Clear sign has been significantly weathered and needs repainting.
Please, in the interests of safety both for the users of Moonraker Lane and Bampton High Street, could the Keep Clear area be clearly marked, and enforcement carried out both of this and the new double yellow lines.
At present, there is little regard for either due both to poor condition of the road markings and very poor, irregular enforcement.
This is a matter of great urgency to the safety of pedestrians and road users in Bampton.
With kind regards Suzanna Crossley
