Street lights not dimming between 10 pm and 6 am on new Miller Homes development and therefore in breach of planning terms

Reported in the Street lighting category anonymously at 13:56, Mon 2 December 2019

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 4 minutes later

Street lighting on all of the development is not dimming between 10 pm and 6 am as agreed by OCC in planning consent. In particular two street lights are directly targeted onto my house - 5 Havill Crescent causing severe light pollution and have been advised lights are not meant to be shining on houses but on roads.

  • Thank you for your report, to enable us to log the fault to the correct unit can you please advise using the attached map the street light number you are referring to. If the unit is not on the map this would not be owned/maintained by Oxfordshire County Council and would need to be reported to the developer/landowner direct. Unfortunately we do not keep records of private lights.
