Needs Double Yellow Lines

Reported in the Road Traffic Signs and Road Markings category anonymously at 16:58, Fri 29 November 2019

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 2 minutes later

Please can you give consideration to installing double yellow lines on the corners of Moor Pond Close and Longfields (both sides). At school pick up and drop off times parents are parking right up to the corners of the road and egress for residents of Moor Pond Close is very difficult owing to reduce visibility. I personally have had several near misses in recent months when trying to turn right out of Moor Pond Close in to Longfields. You simply cannot see because the parked vehicles, picking up children from the school, cause an obstruction.

  • Thank you for your enquiry. This issue has been passed onto the relevant team for investigation.

  • Thank you for your enquiry. The introduction of yellow lines would require a traffic regulation order which has to be advertised and consulted on, which is quite a lengthy and costly process. We are currently looking at similar measures in other roads in the town at the request of local county councillors, so in the first instance I would suggest you approach your own county councillor to see if Moor Pond Close can be included in a future consultation.
