Central Island. Unlit and obstructed crossing
Reported in the Road Traffic Signs and Road Markings category anonymously at 10:23, Wed 27 November 2019
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 3 minutes later
This crossing has been unlit and obstructed since at least February 2019. There is no lighting on the actual crossing and it places a danger to both drivers and cyclists/pedestrians. Cyclists cannot manuevre to put the length of the bike out of the road and it is a danger to drivers who could risk a collision which I believe is the reason for the state it is in now.

This has been a danger for a year or more, and I had a couple of near misses before I became wary. The white markings (now very faint) are themselves misleading because they do not reach the full width of the obstruction, and the glare of the overhead sodium lights prevents a clear view until it is far too late. On 22 Jan 2019, long after I had become aware of the hazard, a personal friend hit the obstacle and damaged his car badly enough to require roadside recovery.

Sorry to hear of this issue, this was barriered off but it now looks like these have been taken. An order is on for repair and will be repaired very shortly. The previous delay was a road space issue but this has now been rectified, sorry again and we will get more barriers out
