Front door on a blind corner, reckless drivers travelling fast. Dangerous for me to use my front door, especially when i have my children with me.

I live on a blind corner on Huntingdon Road, and my front door practically opens up onto the road. And the problem is that cars are hitting this corner fast, and it is just a matter of time before someone knocks myself, husband or two children over. My children are 3.5 years and 9 months, so I still use a buggy. There is no way I can use my front door safely, without the fear of a motorist hitting my buggy. The thought just terrifies me! Yes, we did knowingly buy this property knowing it's proximity, but I didn't think for one moment that motorists would hit this corner so fast. When on approach to the corner, there is no clue as to what is coming. It's not partially blind, it is completely blind and dangerous. I cannot trust motorists with the lives of my children. At the moment I am having to use my back door, to be safe. We thought about potentially buying a sign to slow motorists down, but will that really work?? I don't think so. I don't know what to suggest, or what to do next. I'm just really worried for the safety of my children, and other families that walk that pathway.
