Road markings in Bloxham village; roadworks between Bloxham and Banbury
Reported in the Current Roadworks - live information category anonymously at 15:25, Mon 25 November 2019

You carried out major road repairs in Bloxham village during September and October 2019. The road itself is greatly improved, but there are still huge gaps in the road markings! This is very dangerous and you need to deal with it urgently. The other matter is the extensive roadworks between Bloxham and Banbury. This appears to be widening the footway to improve cycling access: a ood Thing, but WHY NOW? in the lead-up to Christmas, when there's much more traffic… enough said! Finally, one moan which has nothing to do with Bloxham, but has to do with the dreaded A361. What is with the nightmare idea of bypassing Chipping Norton by widening the road past the Rollright Stones? The very idea fills one with horror: six-axle lorries thundering past etc. South Newington does need a bypass, but it's impossible. Banning six-axle lorries would improve things mightily; I suppose that's out of the question?
I'll get off my soapbox now.

The unfinished road markings on the A361 have not been addressed yet. Which is dangerous, especially at night. Seems the priority is to get the cycle lane finished?

Thank you for this report. I can respond to your observations regarding the road markings in Bloxham. Following the resurfacing in the village no centre line was to be replaced between Warriner School and Barford Road other than at Courtington Lane junction and at the pedestrian crossing by the post office. We do this deliberately as a visual cue to drivers that they are now in community space with a lower speed limit and should drive accordingly. However, the surfacing contractor mistakenly replaced a section of line between the church and The Red Lion, which now makes the work look incomplete. We hope to remove this incongruous section of line at the end of the A361 scheme.
