Injured in works carried out in windell gardens
Reported anonymously at 16:17, Thu 21 November 2019
Sent to Cherwell District Council and Oxfordshire County Council 4 minutes later
This morning at 4.30am I was walking from orchard way to Bicester to start work and we walked through windell gardens. It's obvious work is being carried out on the paths, we went towards the left closest to the houses past the orange barriers to try and get through, saw a footpath closed sign and as I went to turn around I stepped into the trench. My left leg went straight down,my right across the top. I fell forward and as a result have bruised my shin, grazed my thigh and am having lower back pains. At the time I did not take any photos but have done so on my way home.it is obvious that this part has been left open for residents but rediculous that the rest is left open without being blocked off! In the dark it's extremely unclear even with street lamps. This needs to be rectified ASAP! As a result I have injured myself and dread to think who else may have the same issue with much worse consiquences!

Sorry for the delay in responding, I have spoken to my Network Supervisor for the area (officer who deals with Utilities) and he has confirmed that these works were being carried out by SSE. The officer will speak to SSE asap. Any claims (if you so wish to make any) will need to be sent directly to SSE. kind regards.
