Excessive water running through Upper Milton, drains off the road into Harrys Cottage, farm up the road has water running down all the time

Reported anonymously at 15:00, Tuesday 19 November 2019

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council and West Oxfordshire District Council 5 minutes later

For the last month we have had excessive water running down Upper Milton, some is coming off the fields but also the drains keep blocking, ditches are full and there is water always running off a driveway down the road. Our house Harrys Cottage is sideways to the road, there is a stile at the side of our house and a drain on the road, so much water keeps running down both sides of the road that the drain keeps blocking and excessive water up to the first step of the stile keeps causing cars to zoom through the large puddles and the water then hits our lounge windows! We keep trying to clean the top of the drain to keep the water moving but this can take upto an hour a day to clear. Also outside Gilberts Cottage is also a very large pot hole. Now that the temperatures are so low, the whole of the road is an ice rink, dreadful to drive along this am. Signs need putting up to make people aware to slow down, some grit on there road would also help, before someone has a terrible accident. Over the last few years we have already has cars through our brick wall and a motor cyclist fall off outside our house and had to go to hospital !
