Series of large pot holes

Reported in the Pothole category anonymously at 22:36, Monday 18 November 2019

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 4 minutes later

These potholes seem to get worse daily, they are not seen until it’s too late to avoid them when turning left into Akeman Street off Woodstock Road; drivers aware are tempted to drive around them but no room or visibility of oncoming vehicles

Council ref: ENQ19848056

  • There is a much larger pothole than appears as it is flooded with water. It is right on the bend so you are unable to avoid it.

  • 21st November at around 4.40pm. Huge pothole still filled with water. Hit this tonight (dark by then). No warning. Gave the underside of my car an almighty clout. Loud 'bang'. Hope to goodness no permanent damage to chassis or tyre but will be asking local garage to check it. Can I claim for damage?

  • 22nd Nov' these potholes have still not been repaired. To avoid them drivers have to cross towards the oncoming traffic. there will be an accident if they are not dealt with immediately.

  • They're still there (Sunday night - 24th November)…. how many cars have to be ruined and how many tyres have burst before you sort it? Perhaps our local councillors would like to drive around their constituency using this route and see how long it takes for their car to be ruined??

  • These potholes are causing left turning traffic to swerve into the path of oncoming traffic creating danger. No urgent repairs have been carried out despite assurances. This will leave OCC vulnerable to claims.
