Extreme deterioration by cars parking on in tarmac service strip
Reported anonymously at 09:35, Mon 18 November 2019
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council and South Oxfordshire District Council 5 minutes later
This problem, immediately opposite 25 Darent Place, was reported in May 2019 to Fix My Street and they advised to contact OCC directly. We did hope that the summer months would recover the problem but local residents are parking on the grass service strip and the photos clearly show the deterioration and unsightly condition it has created?! Should this area by either tarmac or a No Parking zone? Your assistance to resolving this problem would be greatly appreciated, Thank you.

After Virgin Fibre works this summer, the area is more uneven and untidy than before. I suppose that this area should be at least a No Parking zone due to the damage that cars can cause to the cables.

These photos were taken three days ago, 7th November 2020, it would be very much appreciated if some update on the progress to resolve this long term eyesore and illegal parking problem could be advised via this reporting medium or should we be directing the problem to a different Council Department?

Fully appreciate that this is a ‘service strip’ so needs to be accessible for service maintenance, however, this long term deterioration following Virgin Media cable installation over three years ago, has not had any rectification by any Council road maintenance team, is this acceptable? Therefore your advice and resolution to this problem would be very much appreciated.
