Deep flood on inner lane of roundabout
Reported in the Blocked Drain / Gully category anonymously at 17:37, Sat 16 November 2019
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 3 minutes later
This has been an ongoing problem since the same time last year whenever there is heavy or lighter prolonged rainfall. The inner lane (i.e. closer to the centre of the roundabout) is significantly lower than the outer lane (due to a pronounced camber) and the rain doesn't drain adequately. If there is a drain hole, it isn't coping and needs a more radical solution - a storm drain perhaps? It is a hazard to traffic, especially when driving in the dark.

Thank you for your enquiry. We have had several attempts to get onto this area to jet the system and investigate the problem. However, due to the high traffic volumes during the day it has to be done at night and there have been night time closures on the A34 and slip lanes off the Roundabout so it's caused us problems getting in to do the work. There are no closures programmed this week so we will be able to get the flood removed and the cause investigated.
