Have just noticed this broken tree which is held in place only by other trees, in high wind this could come down and potentially take the other tree with it. Can be easily seen from the junction of Madley Brook Lane and Beech Grove.

We have visited site and assessed the trees in their location. OCC maintains land that is HMPE (highway maintainable at public expense) in its capacity as local highway authority. The trees referred to in the enquiry are on land that is not HMPE. You can access the land registry at: https://www.gov.uk/ search-property-information-land-registry to find details of the adjacent landowner to pursue your enquiry. It may also be appropriate to contact the District, Town or Parish Council to further your enquiry. You are also within your common law rights as a landowner to cut any overhanging or encroaching vegetation back to the boundary line of your property.
Many Thanks For your enquiry.

This tree is the responsibility of West Oxfordshire District Council and is now in our work flow. The likelihood of the tree failing and the possible impact if it does will be considered when prescribing work.
