Church Lane/Bletchingdon Road

Reported in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 16:40, Thursday 14 November 2019

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 5 minutes later

Gallosbrook stream burst its banks over road leading out of Weston the Green village. I phoned highways number to see if we could get a flood sign so its visible at night but suggested putting it on here. I don't know if that is possible, especially I appreciate given numerous problems in the county, or what the situation will be tomorrow. Many thanks

  • Hi I've been and checked this morning and the flooding over the road has gone. The drains are obviously full and some have leaves over them (which I will go and remove later today to aid draining). The road is a bit mucky in patches as a result, especially at Gallosbrook Way. With more rain predicted and the fullness of the surrounding fields and spinney etc there is likely to be more flooding which I will keep an eye on. However if you had a spare flood highways sign you wanted to leave with me (the parish clerk) I could put it out whenever there is flooding to save you time/worry, especially at night time and given all the other issues in the county. Many thanks for your support
