Overhanging trees. Dangerous as pedestrians have to step in the road.

Reported in the Trees category anonymously at 15:21, Thursday 14 November 2019

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 5 minutes later

There are overhanging trees down this length of Steventon Hill. There are some that look like they require attention due to the amount of overhang and heavy ivy growing on them. They were looked at over five years ago by a tree surgeon, who was due to carry out the work required if the road was closed due to the bridge re-build. This was never done, so neither were the trees. It is dangerous as pedestrians have to step into the oncoming traffic as they walk down the hill.

  • Thank you for your report. The trees on Steventon Hill were inspected last year and all necessary work carried out last year. The branches on the footpath have been actioned and will be removed as soon as possible

  • I appreciate that the ones at the top of the hill above Hillside Cottage had branches removed this year, but the trees lower down the hill have not been touched in years.
