Lack of Road Gully causing damage to Gravel Parking and Road
Reported in the Blocked Drain / Gully category by Marc Thielke at 14:24, Thu 14 November 2019
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 2 minutes later
Could we have a road gully added to the end of Allens Lane to take rain water under the ground to the stream. A circle is there to show the west edge of the road where the water flows and is just before the asphalt ends. The other picture shows a direct line 12 meters long that leads to the stream, this land is the entrance to the lower garden of The Willows. As things are now rain water flows down Allens Lane and onto the gravel lane going to the Canal and River Trust parking lot. Today Nov 14 the heavy rains caused extra water to flow out of a manhole at the top of Allens Lane and the photo shows the heavy flow of water, in the past this amount of water has caused a lot of damage and made the dirt road difficult to pass.

Thank you for reporting this issue. The gully issue/blockage will be included in our forthcoming gully cleansing programme. As there are limited budget we have to prioritise high flood risk areas. It is a common issue in Oxfordshire for rain water to not flow away as quickly as it should, the water usually lows away after a few hours but if it has not then please report again. We will continue to monitor this on our routine inspections. Regards
