Narrow shared pavement & cycle track

Reported in the Highway Schemes category anonymously at 10:51, Wednesday 13 November 2019

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 4 minutes later

The new pavement/cycle track seems significantly narrow than the one it is replacing. This is a stretch where cyclists travel at high speeds - in excess of 20mph. Mixing cyclists and pedestrians in such circumstances is potentially very dangerous. The facility needs to be wider or cyclists encouraged to use the road with appropriate road markings. On a more specific point, the rumble strips running parallel with the direction of the cyclists are horrid to cycle on (I make a point of using the pedestrian side where the strips run contra to the direction of travel where possible) especially when wet and icy - please please remove!
