Uneven footpath caused serious injury
Reported in the Footways and Pavement damage category anonymously at 14:51, Mon 11 November 2019
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 4 minutes later
Metal plates standing proud of the pavement caused my 82-year-old mother-in-law to trip and fall on the evening of Thursday 31st October. She Fractured her wrist, and seriously bruised her face and knees. Can these please be made less of a trip hazard asap before someone else has a (potentially worse) fall? The alleyway is also very poorly lit - can something be done about that, too? This is at the top of Church Lane in Wallingford OX10 0AL. Thank you in advance.

Thank you for your report. I an sorry to hear about you Mother in Law's injuries and hope she recovers soon. I have assessed this site and found that it does not currently meet our criteria for intervention so I am unable to raise any repairs at this time. However I will report it to Thames Water who are responsible for the metal covers to make them aware of this issue. I will also make the Street Lighting team aware in case there is anything they can do about the street lighting along here. This report is now closed.
