Replacement street light required

Reported in the Street lighting category by Chakgrove Parish Council - Jo Murphy at 09:53, Thu 31 October 2019

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 3 minutes later

Please can you let us know when the street light on Mill Lane will be replaced. It is situated between the Lamb Pub and the Flemming Avenue junction, and was originally on a telegraph pole which was knocked down following a car crash.

The street is very dark and is causing safety issues for pedestrians.

Many thanks, J

  • Thank you for your report, to enable us to log the fault to the correct unit can you please advise using the attached map the street light number you are referring to. If the unit is not on the map this would not be owned/maintained by Oxfordshire County Council and would need to be reported to the developer/landowner direct. Unfortunately we do not keep records of private lights.

  • Apologies for the delay responding - I wasn't notified of your response.

The lamp which requires replacement is # 003, as shown on the attached map.

In August 2019 a car crashed into the electric pole that held the lamp. A new pole was fitted the very next day but the lamp was never replaced.
