Large Pothole / road corrosion after large branch stump in hedgerow
Reported in the Pothole category anonymously at 18:47, Wed 30 October 2019
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 3 minutes later
The speed limit of Blackhorse Lane should be lowered as it is difficult for two vehicles to pass safely in some places due to the width of the road. On this occasion, I was driving towards Abingdon from Cothill in my VW Caddy Van at circa 40 mph and the passenger side hit a branch stump in the hedgerow about a metre up (no higher than my van as it hit the side) when passing an oncoming vehicle and then I hit a pothole / road corrosion area which I hit at force which caused me to swerve in the middle of the road which luckily the opposite carriageway was now cleared. This caused significant damage to the front passenger tyre as shown in the photos. Unfortunately I don’t feel safe enough to pull over to take photos of the area as it’s just before the bend in the road.
