Long delays on the A417 caused by incorrect phasing of temp traffic lights
Reported in the Current Roadworks - live information category anonymously at 08:51, Thu 24 October 2019
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 4 minutes later
Sigh!!! Why can't OCC force whoever wants to dig up the A417 to operate traffic lights at peak times?
Traffic lights currently near Featherbed Lane, East Hendred.
Long queue at 8am stretching back to the Lains Barn crossroads, and only 6 or 7 cars queuing from the Rowstock direction. (See attached photo as proof). Last night it was the opposite. 6 cars queuing from Wantage, and traffic queued back well past Rowstock roundabout. (See 2nd photo as proof)
This happens every time WITHOUT fail. Why aren't lessons learned? It's not as if you haven't had plenty of complaints in the past about this!!!!
I am one very angry motorist who is at the end of his tether about this. I am not alone either.
Even all of the local radio stations are commenting that there are long delays on the A417 because of the traffic lights.
Now OCC, please sort it out ONCE and FOR ALL!!!!

Been asked to give an update, well tough.
Going to do exactly the same as OCC, i.e. do nothing.
They were investigating this on the 24th October. Nearly a month on and diddly squat has been done.
