Street light No. 5 Newland Mill still not working

Reported in the Street lighting category anonymously at 21:49, Tue 22 October 2019

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 2 minutes later

Earlier today (22/10/19) this light (previously reported as not working) was reported as now repaired.

But it is still not working. Hence this further report.

1: there is still a small notice attached to the column - referring to a supply issue - ?

2: it does seem a new (LED ?) luminare has been fitted - ?

  • STILL not working ! On a curved section of road ... near a junction ... dark trees ... slippery leaves on part-collapsed pavement ... with kerbside parking that then requires "single-way working" of the highway ... All in all ? NOT the place that should be left in the dark !!!

  • Unduly delayed repair to this light: needed on a corner ... near a junction ... where cars permanently park thus forcing one-way working ... just where a fair % of drivers are accelerating (unduly and dangerously) down Newland Mill ... Risky !

  • Apparently STILL waiting for a supply cable repair. Hopefully this will not require back-excavation where some cars seem to be semi-permanently parked (and "non-resident" ?)
