Very large, double pothole on A420 approaching A34 junction

This pothole has existed since at least July 2019. It is highly dangerous and almost completely unavoidable when travelling especially at night and in wet weather.

  • Agreed, this is a very nasty pothole, shortly before the sign for the Botley A34 junction 1/2 mile. It takes up almost the whole width of the inside lane of the carriageway - I'm surprised this has been allowed to remain unattended to for such a long time, given it's in a position where you can hit it at 70mph on a major dual carriageway, which is quite a dangerous position to be in with the potential risk of tyre blow-out. When you do hit it, it causes an almighty thud which judders throughout the whole car and always worries me about tyres/suspension damage; consequently you see a lot of last-minute swerving to avoid it.
