21/10/19 Dear Sirs,
Re Trees over footpath from Prospect Road to footbridge over Upper Windsor Street, Banbury
My stepson owns a flat at 21 Hollies Court, which directly overlooks the footpath, and I am writing on his behalf.
I recently contacted all three councils via telephone or your online reporting systems to request that the trees mentioned above are trimmed in order to keep them away from the Hollies Court building. Some of the branches are touching the building and some are at head height over the entrance to Hollies Court.
I have also contacted the building maintenance company, SJB Properties, to see if there was any agreement in place re the trees, but they referred me to the Town Council.
From the replies I received to my original query (all very quick replies, thank you) it appears that this piece of land is unregistered and that none of the councils acknowledges any responsibility for its upkeep. As this is clearly a tarmacced public footpath surely one council has to be responsible for maintenance?
I understand that this is a very low priority but can you please review the situation and advise me who is responsible for maintenance of this footpath?
Thank you Yours faithfully TD Hubbard
