  • Ref:00362208 Thank you for your report, OCC are now responding to out of lights within the contracted timescales of attending site within 7 days for repairs. If there is a cable fault this will be passed to the Electricity company to repair and will take longer, it will depend on the resources which the District Service Operator has. Thank you

  • Thank you for your report, to enable us to log the fault to the correct unit can you please advise using the attached map the street light number you are referring to. The point which you have dropped your pin is no where near a house no. 41, please clarify the location of the streetlight. If the unit is not on the map this would not be owned/maintained by Oxfordshire County Council and would need to be reported to the developer/landowner direct. Unfortunately we do not keep records of private lights.

  • SUPPLY FAULT - Passed to District Network Operator (Energy Supplier)

When our street lighting contractor previously attended site it was confirmed that there was a fault with the electricity supply to that lights rather than within the lights themselves, this fault has been reported to the Local District Network Operator (LDNO) by ourselves.

In much the same way as a typical household, Oxfordshire County Council is responsible only for the street light, but not for the electrical infrastructure outside of its own asset, the cabling serving street lights is provided and maintained by the LDNO; these are outside of the local authority control and subject to a separate regulatory framework overseen by ofgem.

Oxfordshire County Council’s contractor is not permitted in any way to interfere with or try to repair electricity supply faults, as they would be in breach of the statutory safety regulations if they tried to do so.

Once the electricity supply company advises Oxfordshire County Council the fault is rectified we will confirm this within our regular inspection programme to ensure that the light as a whole is in working order.

  • Good morning,

Unfortunately, we have hit a back log with our current street light reports, Due to the number of emergencies at this time of year, it has caused a delay for our contractors to come out for repair. i am sorry for any inconvenience this may have been caused and we are working to come as soon as possible.
