Exposed drain covers, subsided dangerous road
Reported in the Roads and Carriageways category anonymously at 13:40, Thu 17 October 2019
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 5 minutes later
On entering Banbury Cross from the A423 to Amazon/Arrival/Sapa Profiles the road is severely damaged from subsiding between drain covers.
Drivers often have to drive in opposing lane to avoid damaging their vehicles’ on the very abrupt dips and sharp edges of exposed drain covers.
It is particularly bad after rain as this area fills wit water so the dangers are then invisible. It is only a matter of time before someone gets injured in an accident due to these, as this is a very busy thoroughfare of cars and delivery vans and lorries.

The repairs made were three small patches to fill small holes. The road is still completely uneven, and it needs more attention. There are still exposed drain cover sharp edges, the drains and road have sunk, and are still dangerous and not suitable for cars. It looks like the drains need to be taken out and the road properly repaired due to the sinkage.

Dangerously large hole probably 150mm deep or greater with a broken manhole cover hidden under heavy rain. High potential for an accident as traffic is swerving into the oncoming lane at the last minute.
