Blocked drain causing flooding in wet weather

Reported in the Drainage category by Cllr Helen Pighills at 12:54, Wed 16 October 2019

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 2 minutes later

This is an ongoing problem that has been reported on numerous occasions over the last year at least - without any action being taken. This part of Northcourt road has kerbstones with drainage slots to allow water to drain away. These are blocked with debris, weed roots etc - which is severely restricting the flow of water into them. Consequently whenever there is heavy rain this part of the road floods. This is hazardous to pedestrians and road users. This is a very busy road/footway as it is on the route to 2 schools - so pedestrians, pushchairs and cyclists are all at risk. Normal street cleaning by Biffa does not clear the blockages - it needs unblocking by other means.
