Totally blocked drain near 25 Freehold Street

Reported in the Drainage category by Christopher Cox at 12:53, Tuesday 15 October 2019

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 2 minutes later

The drain by 31 Freehold Street is clear, but the one nearer 25 Freehold Street is in desperate need of unblocking. It has been blocked for at least a year. Water has nowhere to go at all.

Council ref: ENQ19845151

  • Thank you for reporting this issue. The gully issue/blockage will be included in our forthcoming gully cleansing programme. As there are limited budget we have to prioritise high flood risk areas. Sometimes due to the volume of water pooling accrues even when drain itself is not blocked, Oxfordshire as a whole suffers from this issue and this takes time to flow away. If there is pooling it does not mean there is a flood risk or threat to property and there for this will not be treated as High risk at this time. We will continue to monitor this on our routine inspections. Regards.
