A40 From M40 J8 to Burford via Oxford & Beyond

Hi,
I wish to draw your attention issues on the section of the A40 from M40 J8 to Burford via Oxford (& possibly beyond).
Apart from the street lit 30/40 mph sections in Oxford & the new roundabout near Witney, the rest of this section is like travelling down a black hole.
The reflectivity value of the white lines (lane dividers & centre lines) at night is negligible, that is where they are existent.
This is exacerbated by the cats eye situation. On my last journey I roughly counted approximately 70% either not working or missing entirely (Westbound).
Quite frankly this is an accident waiting to happen especially in foggy or misty mornings. Please check this for yourselves at night, you will see that this is not an exaggeration.

Various lengths of this stretch have recently or in the last year or two been given attention but there are length still in need. These are assessed on a regular basis and added to a programme for refurbishment when finances allow. If a particular location becomes a night time accident spot then it will receive priority in the programme.State changed to: Investigation complete
