Yellow lines in Castle street Wallingford
Reported in the Road Markings category anonymously at 09:32, Thu 10 October 2019
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 3 minutes later
No double yellow lines or even red ones on these very dangerous corners at the end of Castle Street Wallingford. we have a blue mazda car that is parking here constantly and cars are having to swerve past into oncoming traffic. please this is the 3rd time of asking that lines be put in place before someone is killed or seriously hurt. While there are no lines people will constant not care about others and park here.

The installation of formal waiting restrictions (yellow lines) requires the implementation of a ‘Traffic Regulation Order’, this involves a long and expensive legal process including public consultation, I regret that Oxfordshire County Council do not currently have the available funding for such a scheme.
We would suggest that an initial approach is made to your Parish Council so that due consideration can be given towards its priority within the local area and so that the proposal can be endorsed and promoted locally. Parish Councils are also well placed to secure the necessary financial cost to such a scheme. It should also be noted that vehicles parking in a dangerous position are committing an offence under Section 22 of the Road Traffic Act 1998 which should be reported to Thames Valley Police
