Over bright new streetlight

Reported via iOS in the Street lighting category anonymously at 22:16, Monday 7 October 2019

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 8 minutes later

The new white LED bulb that’s been placed into the streetlight in the passageway is far too bright. Please can it either be dimmed or replaced with an orange bulb?

Updates

  • This lamp, we believe No. 96 Thorney Leys (estate), was reported as "not working properly for several months. light flashing or very dim" according to the MOP who reported it and also that there was vandalism in the area. It was replaced with a small LED unit which are generally being rolled out across the County. Please advise your particular property location if you live nearby and consider yourself to be negatively affected so we can consider your request with a view to some measures to reduce your concern, thanks.

  • Thanks for the response. Streetlight not numbered but have attached a photo to confirm location. The light shines into our two bedrooms and bathroom, and hurts everyone’s eyes! Please cover, replace or dim. The bushes have been cut back so there’s really no need for such a bright light.
