Temporary lights are timed wrong for the traffic flow.
Reported in the Current Roadworks - live information category anonymously at 17:27, Thu 3 October 2019
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 2 minutes later
Yet again the temporary lights are timed wrong for the traffic flow. Queued from West Hendred to Wantage, over a mile or two, to find just 6 cars waiting on the other direction! This happens EVERY time there are road works on the A417 - surely previous experience should be learnt from by now. Please sort it out.

When I went through at 5pm, there were a bunch of workmen stood on the grass bank at the entrance to West Lockinge smoking cigarettes. Surely one of them could have still had a smoke but manually controlled the lights.
But as the OP of this report has said, this happens every time there are roadworks on the A417 and no one bothers to operate the lights manually to keep delays to a minimum. Or if they do, they still somehow get it wrong.

Just as bad tonight. Took me nearly an hour to get from Harwell to Wantage.

Sigh!!! As per usual the roadworks have been completed before OCC has done anything about the complaint. Is it any wonder we have no faith in you?
