Insufficient bollards to prevent West bound cars on the A40 dangerously and illegally turning into Jackson Road

Reported in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 15:09, Monday 30 September 2019

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 2 minutes later

Any time I pass the junction during a busy period, without fail I will see at least one impatient driver turn into Jackson Road from the A40. The flimsy plastic "bollard" on the extreme part of the corner does not pose any real damage risk to the cars that attempt the manouevre - it should be replaced with something more substantial to deter these drivers.

  • Thank you for your report. There is a Traffic Regulation Order that bans vehicles from making the left turn into this road, the enforcement of this falls under the remit of Thames Valley Police. I regret that Oxfordshire County Council do not have the available funding to install a 'bell type' bollard at this time
