Huge area of potholed/uneven road/bad repair?
Reported in the Roads and Carriageways category anonymously at 10:07, Mon 30 September 2019
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 4 minutes later
Somewhere along this stretch just before the A420/A34 roundabout is a square area of road which looks like a previously poorly repaired section. This is riddled with potholes and has broken up to such an extent that it is dangerous. Vehicles are regularly swerving around it which is dangerous in itself. Can you please repair it asap?

The resurfacing work has been programmed in for the evening of 16 November through to the early hours of the 17th November under a road closure. It is aknowledged that the surface is uneven, however it still isn't bad enough to be considered for emergency works. We will continue to monitor it and take remedial action where appropriate.

This section is very dangerous and I disagree with your assessment. It needs an emergency repair now.

I have visited the location today and one previous repair has started to pothole again so I have put in a 24hour response defect to repair it. The full repair to whole area affected is still scheduled for November under an overnight road closure. I agree the area is uncomfortable to drive over, however I've driven over it myself at 70mph I'm satisfied it doesn't require an emergency road closure and the scheduled resurfacing forward. The area will continue to be monitored in the meantime.

Thank you. I noticed when I drove over it yesterday (only because the lane closure guided me over it) that it had been patched up in places.

If anyone has an accident due to this problem area then please be aware that the council are VERY aware of it and have done little to safeguard road users.

The area I mentioned has indeed been fixed but immediately after it there is now a massive dip in the road.
