Loose manhole cover as a result of the new road system on A44

Reported in the Manhole category anonymously at 07:17, Thursday 26 September 2019

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 3 minutes later

This pothole/ manhole cover has been loose for months and it is a public nuisance. Every time a vehicle drives over it generates a extremely loud noise which is so anti social as I clearly hear it inside my house and it wakes me up or prevents me from falling asleep. It is causing me extreme stress and anxiety. Please can you stop this noise? I shouldn’t have to suffer this constant 24/7 discomfort as a result in the changes on the A44 leading up to the Wolvercote roundabout, near the large road sign. I have triple glazing but the noise still penetrates the house 24/7 and it is becoming unbearable. The level of traffic has increased significantly and heavier vehicles could be in danger when they drive over this manhole cover/pothole. It has been repaired previously but the problem was not fixed. I myself am convalescing and the noise is a constant struggle and nuisance I shouldn’t have to endure as it is causing me acute stress and anxiety when I need to rest and it is becoming unbearable. Please can this be addressed immediately before a serious accident occurs on a congested highway and major route and roundabout into Oxford and the ring road and A34.
