Street lamp not working

Hello The street lamp opposite 4-6 Tuckers Road, Faringdon (SN7 7YG) has stopped working or the bulb has failed. I have noticed that your current street lamp bulb replacements are very bright white units as opposed to the original orange, the existing lamp posts and lens position are not designed for such bright white bulbs and as a result will produce an intense white light directly into the bedrooms of the three houses opposite. The replacement must be either a down lighter or some additional blanking of the lens must be undertaken to prevent unwanted light pollution. Thanks.

Ref:00358495 Thank you for your report, OCC are now responding to out of lights within the contracted timescales of attending site within 7 days for repairs. If there is a cable fault this will be passed to the Electricity company to repair and will take longer, it will depend on the resources which the District Service Operator has. Thank you

I submitted a request to repair or replace a street light that had failed outside my house, the council had recently started replacing the original orange bulbs with a very bright, white, (what I assume are) LED units. It would have been too bright for the lamp post’s proximity to my house. I mentioned this and the council fortunately replaced the light with a very smart, efficient LED down lighter panel. Very impressed. Thank you!
