Reduce Speed Limit on B4100 Warwick Road to 50 mph
Reported in the Roads and Carriageways category anonymously at 18:11, Thu 19 September 2019
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 4 minutes later
The stretch of B4100 Warwick Road under OCC from the Banbury 40 mph zone to the Warwickshire boundary is de-restricted (ie 60mph) despite the B4100 in Warwickshire having 50mph limit. This seems like a complete anomaly. This short stretch of B4100 road is about 0.8 of a mile, yet has (driving south) a semi-blind bend, one junction at Horley (with no space for turning vehicles) and then another junction/crossroads at Hanwell. Regrettably, it is an invitation for many drivers to stick their foot down to overtake slower vehicles between the two restricted zones. We are even getting vehicles overtaking dangerously on the wrong side of the road at the jct/crossroads at Hanwell. The whole area is also becoming busier with the new developments taking place in Banbury. Could you please consider this speed limit issue. AJ
