Entrance to street 50mph and obscured view from roadabout when bushes grow
Reported anonymously at 13:42, Tue 17 September 2019
Sent to Cherwell District Council and Oxfordshire County Council 3 minutes later
The entrance to Vulcan View is very close to a roadabout which goes onto a 50mph road. There are a few issues: 1.There are bushes to the roadabout side of the road which when they grown up obscure the view of the entrance from the roundabout so people don't know its there and they put there foot down as its a 50mph road which makes it hazardous to pull out. Although these bushes have been cut down they need to be removed and the area replace with grass so that the view never becomes obscured. 2. I also think it would help to have a hidden turning sign for people as the come off the roundabout so people don't put there foot down exiting the roadabout. 3. Is it an official no right turn sign, there's a rumour it isn't? But it results in lot of people turning left and the u-turning in the entrance to the new Bakels factory. Or due to rumour I think ignoring it. Can anything more be done? 4. Is there any plan or way to get the speed limit on this stretch of road reduced to 30mph? I understand this is very complex so happy to discuss.

Thank you for your report - this junction is subject to an imminent safety audit where the issues you raise will be discussed. We are aware of visibility problems which hopefully will be addressed by complete removal of vegetation and the 'No right turn' sign which was erected by the developer can then be removed.

If you are going to cut down existing vegetation can you replace it with a wildflower meadow so the area can still support the local wildlife but also provide visibility for the roundabout? Would it be possible to make the speed for a third of Skimmingdish Lane 30 to slow down traffic?

Any news? Exiting onto skimmingdish on a dark icy morning is pot luck at the moment.
