Speed limit on The Hale road

Reported anonymously at 20:46, Sunday 25 August 2019

Sent to Cherwell District Council and Oxfordshire County Council 4 minutes later

The Hale is supposed to be a 30mph but there is no signage to tell people. The cars scream along there. I am worried as I live on the new estate and take my 3 year old twins to the preschool from September.

The path next to the road is adequate on the Hale, but the speed of the car and narrowing of the path when you go into the village is a hazard. Made worse by no speed signage and potholes at the sides where cars pass each other.

People use The Hale as a rat run in the morning and evening. I am also worried how it will cope with more traffic if the New Development happens at the Golf Club. The road width and signage is not fit for purpose.

  • Thank you for your enquiry - the 30mph speed limit in The Hale has recently been extended and further measures are being considered in the light of potential new development in the locality. Unfortunately it is not possible to add speed limit repeaters where there is street lighting.
