Parking space lines

Reported anonymously at 14:57, Sunday 18 August 2019

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council and South Oxfordshire District Council 3 minutes later

Could you let me know if we can have parking spaces painted onto the road to assist with local parking. Currently, people are using up one and a half car spaces to park meaning that people then have to park far away from their properties and often very unsafely on the blind bends at either end of our road.

  • Thank you for your report. The parking lines you have mentioned are used for parking restriction zones. We would not be able to implement these for this reason. When vehicles are parking the driver should be considerate to others that live down the road to ensure there is enough space for more cars to park around them. However, if any vehicle causes a direct obstruction then the best point of call would be Thames Valley Police as they have the power to enforce this.
