Dangerously obstructed footpath

OCC has repeatedly said that this is a private footpath and not their responsibility. Obstruction by a broken fence has been a concern to residents for months. If this dangerously obstructed footway is NOT highway and so not the responsibility of the County, why have two damaged areas been marked by OCC for repair, along with all the other damaged pavement areas on the Tithe Farm and Ladygrove estates? It is accepted that the smaller, non-tarmacked path leading off this area is probably privately owned but it appears that OCC has now accepted that this area is highway. Please take action to ensure that the heavy, 2 metre fencing leaning over the footpath is made safe without further delay. The first picture shows the two marked areas. The second picture shows the extent of the danger.

This footpath at the side of number 5 Maberley Close, Abingdon is not highway maintained at public expense and has been marked up for slurry treatment by mistake. I have reported this fence to the Building Control team, if you would like to report it yourself please email them at firstname.lastname@example.org .
