Hi. Today I have been out in the rain checking gulleys and grips in Wigginton. Of 25 drains in and around the village 12 are running, 5 are blocked and 8 are not catching any water due mainly incorrect installation. The three grips recently opened up on pretty bush lane near the junction of school lane are not running as their entrances are blocked by gravel. The worst road is Pretty Bush Lane down past the pub, no drains running, one drain blocked and 6 drains not catching water; the grips are on this road which have blocked entrances. This means there are no drains working on this road except one on school lane pretty bush lane junction. Huge quantities of water run down this road approx covering a third of the road and the erosion on the west side of the road is deep and extensive; in places if small car got one wheel in the eroded edge it wouldn't be able to get out. I know you have cleaned out drains recently, I worked with Teresa to help her find them, all but one which I've now discovered in the middle of the village between Home Farm front door and a telephone pole and that is blocked. Suggest you survey Pretty Bush Lane when its raining to understand the gravity of the problem. If you could send me a drain map of Wigginton I can update their status. regards Dennis Checkley
