There are no traffic lights for pedestrians crossing this junction. There is a crossing but no lights and this is very dangerous

  • Thank you for contacting Oxfordshire County Council Traffic Signals. The problem with introducing a Pedestrian phase on Cherwell Drive is that this could not be done without introducing an extra stage into the signal sequence. As this stage it would stop traffic in all directions and would have a serious effect on the capacity of a junction that already experiences serious queuing throughout the day. There are alternative pedestrian routes via the crossings at the Headley Way and Marston Road.
