This is a duplicate of "Hole forming outside number 35 east avenue", reported at 11.19 today, created because I called in with concerns that this was an urgent issue as it looks like it lies above a water main and is getting worse rapidly.
My comment on the original report: This hole is growing larger - it is now >6cm deep and has built up a ridge >10cm. It lies on a piece of road that has been tarmaced over and looks like it is above a water main/pipe under the road, so I am concerned that further damage could cause damage to this.
The diversion route has only been in place since yesterday morning so this needs to be looked at urgently as it is likely to worsen rapidly. I have called the Highways Team at the council to report it as an urgent issue and they have created a duplicate issue under the name "Pothole", logged at 16:12.

The weight of heavy vehicles passing this every few minutes is significantly damaging the road, there is a filled drain under this point and at this rate it will cause the entire piece to collapse
