The Minor Civils Team have appraised this request and say "Will look again at this site. We should be able to incorporate a dropped kerb/hardstanding in to the rebuild of the whole area (including stabilising the bank/ditch etc)".

Hi OCC, A elderly relative recently slipped and fell off the kerb, landing in the road at night and struggled to get back on their feet due to the height of the kerb, so I'm glad to come on here and see that this is looked at.
They ask if you could also consider a street light column to illuminate the area around the shelter, as well as the possibility of a larger shelter to offer some form of protection from the elements and vehicles passing at 50mph+.
Many thanks,

Thank you for your update to this report. Sorry for the long delay in responding to this last request. The Minor Civils Team responded with the comments "Any changes to the bus shelter – size, positioning, lighting etc – again would be down to the Parish Council, though setting further back from the carriageway would not appear practical due to the ditch (piping might be an option but it would be the land owners responsibility)."
With regards to the long standing job to repair the Oaken Holt Care Home bus stop railings and hard standing, The Minor Civils Team have recently responded with "We are not very much further forward on the matter. we will need to revisit to assess repair requirements (plus any possible improvements) and then get a price. We would then need to look at potential funding streams. As I have said previously there is little scope for relocation/enlarging of a bus shelter here due to the limited width of verge. Still working on this ongoing problem – order raised to retrieve barriers and keep safe until final solution sorted."

Thank you for your report. Here is a recent update from The Minor Civils Team regarding the long standing job to repair the Oaken Holt Care Home bus stop railings and hard standing. They say that they are "Still working on this ongoing problem" and an "order has been raised to retrieve barriers and keep the site safe until a final solution is sorted" which has been implemented. More recently they say "have just found out that money may be available!" to fund the repair of the site.
