Traffic damage to property

Reported anonymously at 18:50, Tue 16 July 2019

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council and South Oxfordshire District Council 5 minutes later

I am writing to highlight the damage being done to the front of our property by traffic, and to request options for remedy. As per the attached photos the bank and steps at the front of our house have been repeatedly struck by vehicles, a situation that has worsened significantly due to the number of vehicles which park opposite our house on double yellow lines whilst they go shopping in the nearby Tesco. Larger vehicles are frequently barely able to pass the parked vans/lorries/tractors, and when they do it often results in striking the earth bank or steps. I appreciate that policing the constant backlog of illegally parked vehicles blocking the road and pavement is not practical but I would ask that the council considers providing some support in protecting the bank from further damage. I am unclear how to do this on the boundary with the road hence approaching the County Council upon the advice of the Parish Council.
