Safety Barrier Removed
Reported in the Footways and Pavement damage category anonymously at 20:58, Fri 12 July 2019
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 2 minutes later
This is one of Safety barrier locations behind Tesco's where the metal barrier which has been in situ for 25+ years has been removed with no reason, no notice and no one knowing who or why. It may seem a good idea but for parents not so good, please note it goes straight out onto a roadway, albeit a dead end which school staff and parents use. There is a silly little wooden post in replacement but not a good idea as I am sure it will not slow children / bikes down, When it becomes known who has done it I would love to see the risk assessment and how much it cost.

Nothing has been done to rectify the safety issue to date and am still waiting for an update from relevant agencies who are responsible for this.

I had a reply from CDC stating the barriers were removed in order to promote cycling and the like. NO RISK ASSESSMENT was completed. Today I saw three children run up to the edge of the road ( no barrier ) but luckily stopped. An OAP was driving a car and had to brake sharply and then told the parents she nearly had a heart attack due to children suddenly appearing. I have made complaints to CDC but to no avail at this time. If anyone has any suggestions then please advise
