Request to put bollards on the pavement

A member of the public has requested for bollards to be placed on the edge of the pavement after sending in footage of cars mounting the kerb (turning left onto Banbury Road) to avoid a large vehicle in the right hand lane turning right waiting to turn right up Banbury Road.

  • Thank you for your enquiry. Driving on the footway is an offence, however it can only be enforced by Thames Valley Police. In this case, the video suggests the cause appears to be a badly positioned lorry.

    Unfortunately we do not have a budget to provide bollards at this location, and if sufficient funds did exist we would probably have to prioritize locations with a proven accident history
